Data Sources & Methodology
Effective date: February 23, 2026
Overview
This page explains how Chasing Income obtains, processes, and displays ETF and related market data. It is intended to provide transparency on data inputs, update timing, and known limitations.
What Data We Display
- Trade history and activity summaries.
- ETF holdings and composition snapshots.
- Prices and return-related fields where available.
- Distribution and income-related data.
Data Sources
Depending on the dataset, we may use one or more of the following:
- [Issuer CSV downloads and fund resources].
- [Regulatory filings and public disclosures].
- [Market data provider] feeds or APIs.
- Internal aggregation pipelines and normalization rules.
Specific source availability may vary by symbol and by date.
Update Frequency
Updated periodically.
Some datasets update intraday, while others update daily or on issuer publishing schedules.
Processing Methodology
Parsing, Validation, and Deduplication
Incoming files/records are parsed into standardized fields, validated for expected formats, and deduplicated using symbol/date and source identifiers where applicable.
Timezone and Timestamps
Source timestamps may originate in different timezones. We normalize display fields using our application conventions, which can cause apparent date shifts around market close boundaries.
Rounding and Currency
Numeric values may be rounded for display. Currency fields are generally shown in USD unless otherwise specified.
Corrections and Restatements
If a source provider revises historical values, we may update our records to reflect those restatements. Backfilled or corrected values may differ from earlier snapshots.
Limitations & Disclaimers
- Data may be delayed, incomplete, or temporarily unavailable.
- Issuers and providers may change formats, definitions, or historical records without notice.
- Displayed values are informational and may not match broker, custodian, or issuer records in real time.
- This page is not legal, tax, accounting, or investment advice.
See our Disclaimer for additional context.
